Household Survey under USHA
The District Rural Development Agency [DUDA], Koraput pledged this assignment to LAVS which was undertaken in 4 ULBs; Koraput, Jeypur, Sunabeda Municipalities and Kotpad NAC. 16428 Nos. of households were identified [marked with stickers on road facing doors/ walls]in the slums of the ULBs, steps taken to strengthen the Slum Dwellers Associations. Total Households covered were 16428;[5620 in Koraput, 4954 in Jeypur, 3267 in Sunabeda and 2587 in Kotpad ULBs]
National Field verification of PRIs
In order to boost the morale of the PRI systems across the state and all the three tiers of the system, The Govt. of India had floated a scheme named ‘Rajiv Gandhi Panchayat Sashaktikaran Abhiyan’ under which the best performing PR Institutions were awarded by the Government. The awards were confirmed after their claims against performance indicators were verified by an independent agency ‘The National Field Verification Team [NFVT]’. In the capacity of being a selected NFVT, LAVS undertook the verification in states of Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, Kerala and Sikkim in 3 consecutive years.
