Solar energy is considered to be one of the largest segments in renewable and clean energy systems. The Govt. of Odisha promotes use of solar power through is designated unit, the ‘Orissa Renewable Energy Development Authority [OREDA]’; particularly in Tribal Sub-Plan [TSP] Areas. The OREDA assigned LAVS to undertake a study and report to them for final implementation of the project. The assignment covered 123 no. of villages in 3 districts of the state.The study was conducted in 6 block Rayagada district and covering 56 villages. Similarly one block each of Mayurbhanj and Keonjhar district were included in the study covering around 46 and 21 villages respectively.
